What is the best makeup for dry skin?
Dry skin can be a challenge to deal with. Foundation can cling to dry patches, powders can become almost unblendable, and it might seem like there is no moisturizer that will help. These problems are fixable, however! There is, in fact, makeup made for dry skin; it’s just a matter of finding it. Treating dry skin is a two-step process, however. Skin care is crucial when it comes to dry skin, followed by the makeup itself.
Skin care is incredibly important when it comes to dry skin. When it comes to moisturizers, I like the Yes To line. The Yes To Carrots is a good all-around moisturizer, or you can pick any of the other fruits to fit your needs (I use Yes To Tomatoes because I have acne-prone skin).
I also recommend a good hydrating mask. My favorite is the Boots No 7 Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask. This is an intensely moisturizing mask—think of it as deep conditioner for your face. It’s incredibly hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.
When it comes to makeup for dry skin, I suggest a good BB cream or tinted moisturizer. These will help hydrate the skin while providing some coverage as needed. My favorite product in this category is the Almay Smart Shade CC Cream. This CC cream is incredibly hydrating without being oily, and it has really nice shade-matching technology. It’s a must if you want a good moisturizing almost-foundation.
If you’re looking at foundation, a moisturizing primer and foundation combo is your best bet for hydrated skin. I like the Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer because it’s crazy hydrating and has a dewy finish, eliminating the look of dull skin.
Finally, for foundation, I always recommend Loreal True Match Lumi. Again, we’re aiming for dewy skin to combat the dull look that dry skin can tend to have. This foundation does just that, and it sits on top of the Pixi primer wonderfully.
So there are some products that are sure to help out dry skin. Be sure to always keep your eye out for anything “hydrating” or “moisturizing” because those products will be your best friends!
