Question: What is the best makeup for green eyes?
Answer: One of this summer’s hottest beauty trends is vibrant colors, so play up those green eyes by highlighting them with bright purples!
We’ve all seen the color wheel in elementary school art class, but you probably never thought you’d incorporate that into your makeup routine, did you? Since green is directly across from purple on the wheel, these two colors will complement one another—making your eyes noticeable even from miles away!
Being that I have green eyes myself, I’ve played with all different colors and shades to see what accentuates them best. My favorite way to play up my green peepers is by doing a nude shadow all over the eyelid (I usually use the naked color that’s featured in the Naked Palette by Urban Decay), and after that I line the top of my lids with purple liner. My favorite is the NYX Slide On Pencil in Purple Blaze. This brilliant shade will make your eyes look even greener than you ever thought possible!
Another take on the purple trend includes using a dark purple shadow all over the lid, accompanied by a winged line using black eyeliner. My favorite eyeshadow for this look is the Matte Colorful Eyeshadow by Sephora in the Red Wine color—this deep purple can be applied all over the eyelid for a smokier, nighttime look that will definitely make your bright eyes stand out.
Take a leap of faith and dive into this summer trend by playing up your beautiful eyes! If you’re lucky enough to have green eyes, you should make them even more noticeable by highlighting them with bright purples this summer!
