Don’t let the thought of chilly weather get you down. Lift your mood and enhance your outfits with sparkly jewelry. Gold and glitter are fashion trends worth following this fall, and they’ll chase away any thoughts of last year’s polar vortex. Consider these five bling trends to wear this fall:

1. Sparkly Scarves

You can never go wrong with adding a scarf (or two, three, or ten!) to your fall wardrobe. Simple scarves in solid colors go with anything, but sequined scarves woven with gold or silver threads make a simply gorgeous fashion statement. Wear it in place of your necklace, layer a long necklace underneath it, or pin a brooch on top. Make sure the shiny threads match your other accessories.

2. Necklaces

Statement necklaces are popular accessories. This fall, experiment with different chain lengths. Long necklaces work with just about any outfit, especially loose sweaters and cardigans. Short, chunky necklaces are perfect for simple outfits. Pair them with high-collared shirts or dresses. Engraved necklaces are also an upcoming trend, but choose something classy to prevent it from looking like a BFF necklace from third grade. It’s a great accessory that you can wear with anything. Remember that it’s OK to pile on various layers of chains, but one big statement means toning down the rest of your look. Keep rings, bracelets, and earrings simple, or wear none at all.

3. Bracelets

It can be difficult to wear bracelets with long sleeves in the fall. If your bling is constantly slipping under your sleeves, how can you show it off? With cuff bracelets! A wide, simple cuff easily slides up and down your sleeve. Pair a gold cuff bracelet with some fall-colored fabrics like orange, brown, or dark green. Of course, you can always go for the classic black and grey color combination. If you prefer fitted bracelets, wear short sleeves or three-quarter length sleeves to highlight your bling. Again, if you want to layer on multiple bracelets, limit your other accessories. If you don’t like bracelets at all, cuff links are a great alternative and add a little sparkle to your look, especially at the office. With a wide variety to choose from, you can make a big statement with these tiny trinkets.

4. Earrings

Similar to cuff links, earrings are a great way to make a fashion statement. This fall’s latest trend is the statement earring. Statement earrings don’t need a partner, so skip the additional accessories. Wear statement earrings with a simple outfit, and let it shine as the main piece. To tone down your look, choose studs, which are a better choice for beaded or patterned clothing. Diamonds match anything, but try gold studs to complement your fall colors. Dangling earrings demand attention. Pick out any extravagant pair you like, but wear them with solid colors. All eyes will gravitate toward your face, so add a little mascara or lipstick to your makeup look.

5. Nails

Your fingernails deserve just as much consideration as your bracelets and earrings. For a real pop of color, add a little gold to those nails. Ten gold fingernails is fine if you like a lot of bling, but for a more understated look, paint eight of your fingernails a fall color. Paint one of your nails on each hand in a glittery shade. It’s still popular to paint the ring finger in a different color. Gold fingertips are another option.

An outfit isn’t complete without a few accessories, and a little sparkle is sure to put a smile on your face and keep you trendy this fall. What bling trends will you wear this season?
