Question: What are some great matte drugstore bronzers that won’t turn me orange?

Answer: I love drugstore bronzers. I think they’re the most fabulous things on the earth, and I find myself reaching for drugstore bronzers more often than I reach for high-end brands. Is that crazy? Honestly, drugstore brands make really good bronzers. Some can look orange, like NYC Smooth Skin bronzer in Sunnyalthough I personally find that it compliments my skin tone! But, some have a good balance of undertones and don’t make you look like an oompa loompa. Here are some drugstore bronzers that I recommend:

Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light

This is probably one of my favorite bronzers as of right now. It’s got a perfect neutral undertone and doesn’t make the skin look orange at all. It’s a product that’s as matte as you’ll find in the drugstore aisles. Super affordable and extremely versatile, this bronzer blends out nicely and can also be used for contouring.

POP Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer in Secret Sunshine

This stuff is slightly more expensive and slightly harder to get your hands onbut man, it’s about as far away from orange as you’ll get. POP is one of my favorite brands because their stuff is really high quality and their prices are reasonable. This bronzer is amazing for contouring. It’s definitely my new favorite bronzer for those days when I want a stronger contour. Because it has a relatively pink undertone, it doesn’t warm up the skin as much as it sculpts it. Additionally, it’s matte, so there’s no sparkle to draw attention to areas where you want hollows to be.

e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St. Lucia

This bronzer is known for being a dupe of NARS Laguna. People have also said the blush in this duo is a dupe of NARS Orgasm; it’s really not, but that’s another post! The color is exactly the same. The only difference is the pigmentation and how it blends. The NARS product obviously has more pigmentation, but in my opinion, the e.l.f. bronzer blends out better. There’s the slightest bit of sparkle in the pan, but there’s no trace of any shimmer or glitter when applied to the skin. This is a great pick that looks amazing on the face and is free from orange tones.

These three drugstore bronzers definitely won’t make you look orange. There are other great products out there as well, but these bronzers are the three that I trust!

Will you try them out?
