Summer seems like it’s so close, yet so far away, but we can still do some precautionary summer fashion planning, right? Some of the most welcomed pieces of fashion in the warmer months are the summer shoes like strappy sandals and wedges. Finally, we can break free from the riding boots and in to something a little more toe-bearing (for our perfect pedicures of course!). Summer ’14 promises several must-have shoes, so check out this list and catch the summer shoe fever!
1. Børn Daphne Sandal ($145, nordstrom.com)
Take your basic sandal up a few notches with this cute and versatile pair of strappy beauties. The 1 1/2 inch heel adds just the right amount of height for a wedge-like feel. This shoe comes in a number of great colors that go with virtually any outfit. Try pairing with a great pair of tailored shorts or romper.
2. Romney Zebra Rose Clogs ($219, romneydesigns.com)
Prints are all the buzz this season, so rock both zebra and floral print with these adorable clogs. For an on-trend look, pair these chic clogs with your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans and a tee. While these were originally sold in-store at Nordstrom exclusively, these painted clogs are now available online in a variety of combinations. Perfect for the on-the-go fashionista (clutching a cup of java, of course!).
3. Dolce Vita Shandy Sandal ($179, nordstrom.com)
This is a killer pair of sandal wedges that are both super sexy and boho-chic at the same time. The laces add a fun twist to this laser-cut pair and the zipper in the back will give ’em something to talk about when you’re both coming and going. Try pairing these with with some distressed skinny jeans or a full-bodied skirt.
4. SJP Leslie Espadrille Sandal ($245, nordstrom.com)
Naturally anything designed by Sarah Jessica Parker seems like a no-brainer, and these espadrilles are no exception. Bronze leather and coral straps make these shoes flirty, feminine, and definitely scream summer. SJP always includes a bit of grosgrain in all of her shoes as a nod to the grosgrain bows her mother used to put in her hair (such a cute touch!). Try pairing these with a neutral sundress.
5. Sam Edelman Genette Sandal ($100, nordstrom.com)
These sandals really make a statement with their wide, hammered metallic ankle strap. Try pairing these with anything ankle-baring so you can show off your “feet jewelry”.
Summer shoes offer so many different possibilities for mixing, matching, and creating new looks. Go ahead and have fun with warm weather footwear and start some of your own trends!
