Question: How do I apply perfume?
Answer: The great Coco Chanel once said, “A woman should apply perfume where she would like to be kissed.” In addition to this bit of wisdom, we’ve compiled our greatest perfume application tips.
To apply perfume, find the “pulse points” on your body. These spots send off heat which will help the fragrance release into the air. These points are found on the inner wrists, base of the throat, behind the ears and inner elbows. As you wear the perfume throughout the day, your body heat will continue to release that scent into the air.
Simply spray, dab or swipe. A little tip? Avoid rubbing your wrists together, as this can crush the scent. Be sure to apply perfume before putting on clothes and jewelry, as some fragrances will leave permanent stains on fabrics and metals. And, as tempting as it may be, try to avoid walking through fragrance when applying. You don’t want to be using excess amounts of perfume!
While it may sound strange at first, applying perfume directly to hair is another option. It will give you a gentle, lovely scent throughout the day. Warning: make sure you’re standing at least 2 to 8 inches away!
After applying perfume, be sure to read up on a few tricks regarding how to keep that scent all day.
