Question:
How can I rock the sneaker fashion trend?

Answer: The sportswear trend has been seen all over the runways for the past few seasons, and the heavyweight champ of this style is…sneakers. Street style pros have been rocking the sneaker fashion trend long before big name designers caught on. If Karl Largerfeld sends his models down the runway in trainers for Chanel, you know the trend has arrived in full force. Luckily for us multitaskers, this fad is the perfect way to merge comfort with style. Editors, bloggers and fashionistas alike have adopted this trend with love. Everyone has been rocking the shoe of the season, and now it’s your turn.

Minimalist

Classic white Adidas were spotted everywhere during Fashion Week, and pairings ranged from cropped trousers to pleated skirts. While these shoes are eerily reminiscent of our middle school days, their simplicity lends them to a wide variety of looks. These shoes are the perfect palette cleanser; they let the rest of your outfit truly shine. These crisp comfort shoes seem cool and fresh, after what seemed like an eternity of neon trainers and fussy footwear. Our favorite? The Josef Seibel ‘Caspian’ Sneaker in white is both fresh and comfortable to boot (pun intended).

Retro

Many are turning to sneaks of the past for edgy appeal. Many sneaker companies, being lead by Nike, are releasing classic lines. For example, high-top Nike’s are having a moment a la 1985. These shoes only look retro These shoes only look retro — but in all actuality, they’re pumped full of the latest in new shoe technology. Their colors are loud, the price high (ish) and their resemblance to The Fresh Prince of Belair uncanny. Converse sneakers are also making a comeback when paired with tomboy pieces for an edgy rocker look.

Wedge

For women who aren’t ready to give up their stiletto height, wedged sneakers are sticking around for yet another season. While these shoes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, they appeal to the woman who wants to have her cake and eat it too — to look inches taller while still remaining comfy and sporty.

Comfort footwear appears to be here to stay. Our feet are praising this trend takeover, while our stilettos sigh from the back of our closets. Many argue that rocking a pair of sneakers can be even sexier than a pair of heels. The sneaker-adorned woman is confident and bold, ready to take on whatever life throws at her.
