Question: I sweat through my clothes regularly — what can I do?
Answer: From one sweaty lady to another: I feel your pain. I (unfortunately) inherited my father’s “sweat at the first sign of movement” gene, so it takes little to no physical activity for my entire body to turn into a swimming pool. That being said, living with this god-awful curse for so long has taught me quite a few tricks of the trade.
This may seem like a no brainer, but it’s the most important step. Putting anti-antiperspirant on every morning before you walk out the door is fabulous, but the real secret is to put it on at night as well. Since you sweat less at night, more of the anti-persperant’s active ingredients are able to enter your sweat ducts. With the ducts clogged up, you will sweat less! That pretty much sums it up, but feel free to read more about sweat here. I am a huge proponent of fixing the core of a problem, so this should definitely be your first change.
Having to live the sweaty life is a tough battle, and like any great soldier, you need armor. These underarm pit guards are said to absorb your sweat and keep them from staining your clothes! I haven’t had the chance to try them out yet, but for only $10.95, I will definitely be snagging a set.
Although it’s summer and therefore pretty hot out, it helps to have a layer in between your sweaty body and your cute top. In other words, wearing a tank top underneath your blouse will really help you out. How? The craziness will be hidden and no one will be the wiser.
Sleeveless & dark
If your main issue is the visibility of your sweat, wearing tops that don’t cover your armpits is definitely the way to go! Dark colors disguise sweat stains a lot better. Navy, black, and charcoal are all fabulous choices.
It’s a sweaty world — but you will survive!
