While most of us struggle to fill in our eyebrows, some are gifted with the thicker variety. That being said, thick brows can have a downside. The thicker the hair the more unruly the brow can get. By thinning out the eyebrows, you can have more control in taming your look.
Before we get into any brow action, you must understand the number one rule of fixing your brows: DON’T OVER PLUCK! It’s very easy to mess up your eyebrows. Remember, once you remove a hair, it’s gone and it will take a while to grow back.
Tips and Tricks
To tame and thin out eyebrows, you need some tweezers, white eyeliner, a spoolie brush, and brow scissors.
Comb all your hairs in place. With the white liner, create an outline of your desired brow shape. The line that you created will serve as a guide for the hairs you want to remove. Carefully pluck any hairs that fall outside the white line. As you pluck your eyebrows, constantly stop and check to make sure you are plucking the right hairs. If at any time you are unsure of a hair, just leave it. It’s always better to be cautious.
Once you’ve finished plucking unwanted hair, you can trim the brows. Trimming the brows prevents unruly hairs from sticking out of the shape. With a spoolie brush, comb the brows toward your forehead. Using eyebrow scissors, trim out any hairs that seem longer. Do not over trim! Over trimming the brows can lead to bald spots in your eyebrows.
If this is your first time plucking your eyebrows, or if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, go to a salon. In the salon, professionals can shape your brows and remove all unwanted hairs. With the shape already in place, you can easily maintain your own eyebrows. Don’t let your brows get out of control. Remove stray hairs as they grow in to save yourself from wasted time and stress.
