Question: What are 5 ways to transition an outfit from winter to spring?
Answer: Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner and even though the warm weather hasn’t come around yet, it’s time to start transitioning our closets from winter to spring. Here are a couple of different outfit ideas to do just that:
1) Black and white
Black and white has been a huge trend on the runways the last couple of seasons and they will still be hot this spring. For winter, find a black and white printed skirt and add a cute chambray shirt to the look. Pair the outfit with black tights and black booties for a streamlined look. When spring comes around, swap out the chambray shirt, tights, and booties and pair the skirt with a bright, colorful top and sandals.
While florals are not a groundbreaking staple for spring, they’re always on trend and will get you in the mood for that beautiful weather ahead. For finishing out those winter months, wear a floral top with skinny jeans, a chunky cardigan and a pair of simple flats. Once the weather begins to warm up, get rid of the skinny jeans and pair the look with denim shorts.
3) Icy pastels
The trend for this upcoming spring season aren’t those bright pastels we’re used to seeing for the springtime, but rather more icy, cool pastels. To incorporate this trend right now, find an icy pastel piece like an ice-blue, silky top and pair it with dark colored leggings (think: berry, maroon or forest green). To add the finishing touches, incorporate an open cardigan, as well as a printed floral scarf and cute flats. To make this look more appropriate for the springtime, swap the cozy cardigan and flats and pair the look with a jean jacket and sandals.
Metallics are another trend popping up this spring, and a great way to incorporate it is via a fantastic pair of metallic flats. This trend will freshen up your typical, cozy winter style. To pull off this trend, style the flats with a loose fitted top, cardigan and skinny jeans. In the springtime, pair the flats with a sundress that can be worn throughout the spring and into the summertime.
5) Geometric prints
Geometric prints are going to be huge this spring and summer. To change things up this spring, go for a pair of geo print woven pants. Pair the pants with a loose fitted blouse, ballet flats and a cross-body bag to make the outfit trendy and ultra-comfortable. In the springtime, pair the pants with a sleeveless top and sandals.
These five looks are stylish and will make transition from those cozy, layered winter looks to the perfect springtime style.
