Question: What outfit should I wear to a punk rock concert?

Answer: You need to style an outfit that is both grunge and comfortable. Punk Rock concerts tends to get very hot and humid, because there will be a lot of dancing and movement around you. The biggest misconception when it comes to grunge fashion is that you have to wear all black, heavy fabrics, and spikes. Not true! In fact, many of my friends love to wear a basic band tee and jeans, shorts and sneakers at concerts.

Here is an example of a comfortable rock ‘n’ roll grunge look for a punk rock concert:

Tops:

A basic tee with a light breathable fabric, or your favorite band’s tee. Support your favorite band while you dance & sing!

Bottoms:

Acid wash denim jeans or stressed studded shorts will add a punk rocker flare. A DIY tip: fill a spray bottle with bleach, and lightly spray bleach on your basic denim jeans to add an acid wash look.

Shoes:

Reversible combat boots or boots with a chunky heel are very comfortable — you can walk and dance around all night long! To add extra comfort and foot protection, try adding Dr. Scholls gel insoles for your boots.

Accessories:

Cute graphic jewelry are fun additions to your comfort grunge look. Just add the basics: studded earrings, a necklace, and 2-3 miniature rings. The minimal, the better.

Bags:

The fringe cross-body bag or a black studded clutch are ultra-functional bags for your essentials: your phone, wallet, and your favorite makeup for touch-ups.

Optional: Tie a flannel shirt around your waist to pull the punk rocker grunge look together!

Always remember: Comfort! Comfort! Comfort! you are going to move around a lot, so you need to be free when it comes your outfit. Be safe, stay hydrated, take plenty of pictures or videos if you are going with a group of friends, and most of all….. Have Fun!
