When it comes to mascara, the drugstore is basically the promise land for affordable options. While many skin care products and foundations might be best from the department store, there are so many great mascaras hiding out in your local Walgreens and CVS that there’s no reason to splurge when great lashes are available on a budget. The options are endless, and there’s always a new drugstore mascara to try out. Here are some of the best drugstore mascaras:
L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly ($8.99)
A newbie, and yet already a classic. The unique applicator works like a comb, which separates and fans out your lashes for a great butterfly effect.
Ulta Plush Drama ($10)
While not exactly a drugstore mascara, it may as well be with its affordable price! This is nearly an exact Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme dupe, and will lengthen and extend your lashes like nothing else. Definitely not a mascara for the faint at heart, as this will W-O-W out your lashes—to the extreme!
CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion ($9.99)
The CoverGirl LashBlast range is full of great options with a fantastic formula that never clumps. Apply this for the day, then go back and add additional coats for a more dramatic nighttime look (without any fear of odd clumping).
This green wonder is very similar to the very popular (and pricey) Baby Doll Mascara from Yves Saint Laurent. At a fraction of the cost, this is a true drugstore staple that no makeup collection should be without.
Maybelline Great Lash Big ($5.99)
The original Maybelline Great Lash mascara is a tried and true formula that tops the Allure Beauty Expert list year after year. While the original is definitely a classic, I lean more toward the Big version, as it has the power to make your lashes—well—big! You know what they say…go big or go home!
Great drugstore mascaras definitely extend past these five. Other honorable mentions include the L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara, Maybelline The Rocket, Rimmel Scandaleyes and many more. What is your favorite drugstore mascara?
