As rustic autumn trees turn brown and barren, and the crisp chills of winter beckon, fashion statements become warmer, thicker and darker. One of my favorite trends that’s been floating among fashion’s favorites, is the bold, dark lip, particularly in the mauve and wine tones. While I believe in the power of the perfect red lipstick just as much as any fashionista does, my recently purchased Maybelline ColorSensation Lipcolor in the shade Blissful Berry, has quickly become one of my favorites. At first, I was skeptical to the idea of a purple pout, but I encourage you all, don’t knock it ’till you try it. This has truly revolutionized many of my favorite fall ensembles. If you think you’d like to try a dark lip this season, I encourage you to do so. A statement lip is an easy way to dress up your everyday outfits. Here my top five favorite ways to style a vampy lip-

1. Pair it with a bronzed eye:
Especially for the holidays, I love the bronzed eye, bold lip combination. It’s a great way to highlight your eyes, and exaggerate your lips. Shades of red and gold are perfect for this time of the year.

2. Match your mani:
I have always love color coordination, and matching your nails to your lips is a great way to add that put together feel to your style.

3. Pale with a pop:
It’s no secrete that by now, our glorious tanned summer skin is gone- take advantage of this! Pale skin looks amazing with a deep, dark, lip.

4: Glam with gold:
Similar to paring this color with a gold eye shadow, gold jewelry can have the same stunning effect.

5. Chambray everyday:
Statement lips are bold, but wearing it with a simple chambray can dress down your lip, and make it appropriate as an everyday accent.
